The Irish Greyhound Derby may or may not be one of those major greyhound events that you bet on each year, but for those of you that are interested in placing one or more speculative bets on the greyhound you think will come out on top and win it this year, there is no better time that right now to try and secure some of the best possible odds.
Coral for example are touting some fair odds it does have to be said, and you are also going to be paid out to four places currently if you opt to place and each-way bet, with Coral also going one quarter of the win odds on the place part of such a bet.
You will of course need to act fast as the Irish Greyhound Derby will soon be upon us, and below I will rattle through the odds that are on offer right now, but as always, do keep in mind that as that ante post betting market is live, and as the next heats are run the odds will decrease as will the number of greyhounds left in the event too.
As for which greyhound is the one currently being backed, well that is Magical Able and having been 8/1 recently it odds are now just 11/2, I say just 11/2 as they are very decent odds for a greyhound of its class as those odds do represent some real betting value by the way.
Odds of 6/1 are being offered on the current second favourite and that greyhound is Lenson Bocko, who has an outstanding chance of making it through to the final race, and if everything falls its way could go on to win that final race too.
Killmacdonagh the Current Third Favourite
Killmacdonagh is the third favourite currently and it odds have been fairly static over the last few days, with those odds being 7/1, so punters are not what you could ever say piling into it currently, but those odds are there for the taking if you fancy its chances.
There are joint fourth favourites right now and they are Grangeview Ten and Lenson Blinder who are being offered at odds of 81, and for reference those two greyhounds were being offered at odds of 14/1 and 12/1 respectively recently, so there has been some support for both of them.
Outsider in the Irish Greyhound Debry
Let me now give you some ideas as to the odds attached to the rest of the runners that are going to be taking their resistive chance sin this race, starting with the current 10/1 shots, those greyhounds are Ballymac Cooper and Run Happy either of which may be worth an each-way bet right now for sure.
Mucky Brae and Slippy Cian are solid each-way bets too based on their current 12/1 odds and then moving onto the next greyhound in the betting that is Droopys Pension at 16/1, the odds then double in value at least on the next greyhound, that being Boylesports King at 33/1.
Some of the outsiders include the likes of Ballydoyle Valor and Murts Boher at 40/1 and there isn't much support currently for greyhounds such as Cabra Firmino and Our Surprise both available at 50/1, the remainder of the field are 66/1 bar.
