As the clock is now ticking down to the running of the St Leger horse race over at the Doncaster racecourse, and as many bookies have opened their respective ante post betting markets on that race, then is no time like the present to bag some decent odds, if you get a move on that is.
The smart money has already been pouring on for Logician and whilst its odds are still semi decent at even money I do have a suspicion the odds will move into odds-on territory much sooner rather than later so if you do fancy that horses chance of winning that race this year then bet now to secure those odds is my advice.
You can of course pick out and bet on any horses that you fancy the chances of in the St leger this year, but there are not that many horses that are scheduled to take part in this race that do have the raw form to win, but one that does with some luck in running is Sir Dragonet at 10/3.
A couple of other horses that plenty of punters are of the mind are going to run well in this race are Il Paradiso at 5/1 and Sir Ron Priestley at 15/2 but it could pay dividends for you to shop around at several betting sites as some of them may be offering slightly higher odds on offer either of those two runners.
Three Places Paid Betting Each-Way
There is probably no value to be had by backing the current favourite each-way, for whilst that horse has a mighty fine chance of winning if it doesn’t then you are not going to receive a fair sized winning pay-out when backing it each-way if it does get placed instead.
However, with so many outsiders in with a chance of winning the St Leger this year or at the very least getting placed in one of the top spot, for those of you that do want to back a horse each way then make sur you are getting one fifth of the win odds to three places, as those are the best each-way betting terms available on this race for sure.
Could and Outsider Win the St Leger this Year?
It could be the case that one of the outsiders goes on to win the St Leger this year, but looking at the other horses that are expected to run in this race do not appear to have an outstanding chance of winning as you will discover by their respective odds listed below.
You are going to be able to back Dashing Willoughby and Technician at 14/1 and whether Nayef Road at 20/1 is going to pose a problem for any of the much more fancied runners remains to be seen.
You may be of the mind that a rank outsider may just be up to winning this race and if you do there are four of them inclduing Norway at 25/1, South Pacific at 33/1 along with both Barbados at 40/1 and Western Australia at 50/1.
