Van Gerwen Favourite to Win the World Matchplay 2019

Van Gerwen Favourite to Win the World Matchplay 2019 1

Keen Darts fans do know that Michael Van Gerwen is a player that can certainly play darts, and he has won so many darts tournaments recently that whenever he is scheduled to take his chances on any upcoming ones he is always pencilled in as the early favourite to win.

The very next tournament on the darts circuit is the World Matchplay event, and as sure as night follows days Van Gerwen has already been installed as the shorts odds favourite to win that event with odds on offer of 13/8 at bookies sites such as BetFred, who by the way are the sponsor of that event.

The only other darts playing that is currently being offered at single digit odds to win this tournament is Rob Cross and he is a current 7/1 shot.

It is also worth knowing that all other players are into double digit odds at least and the third favourite to win this tournament this year is Gary Anderson, who some of you out there may fancy backing, and if so look out for bookies offering odds no lower than 10/1 is my advice.

Each-Way Sharks Are Circling

It is possible to place each-way bets on this betting market and as such what you will always need to pay attention to when betting each-way on a  major darts tournament such as this one are the odds being offered to you along with the each-way betting terms too.

That is one thing that will jump off your computer screen when you look at the each-way betting terms that BetFred are offering on the 2019 running of the World Matchplay Darts Tournament, for they are going to be paying out to two places at one half of their win odds too.

Top Players Being Backed Each-Way

I would say there are a good ten or so other plyers that are attracting some support, but mainly by each-way backers right now and three of them that do Warrant a closer inspection on the betting markets if you do want to back any number of players each-way this year include Peter Wright at 12/1 and there is a lot to like about the very real chances of success of players like Gerwyn Price, Gerwyn who is on offer right now at odds of 14/1.

If you want to bag some of the very highest possible odds on this darts tournament then you are going to have to look further down the betting markets rather than paying attention to those listed at the top of them.

If you are prepared to take some risks backing players that do have some much better odds attached to them, then some players to keep in mind albeit players that only have a small chance of success this year include the likes of James Wade, James at 22/1 as well as players like Nathan Aspinall, Nathan, Daryl Gurney and Michael Smith all of whom are trading at odds of 25/1.
